The henna is here!
My first batch of henna-to-test has arrived on-island, and I'm actually pretty excited. I'm really looking forward to prepping and testing it for something else I'm really excited about - Beltaine!
Yes! Just around the corner is possibly my favourite time of year. No matter wind, rain or shine, I'm getting ready to go 'off the grid' for a long weekend and spend my days with some truly brilliant people. And, of course, the henna will be coming too. I'm already more prepared than last year, with my money tray and cash book, and I've got little stickers to colour co-ordinate the henna batches (especially something I'm working on for people with sensitive skin who might want to try a milder mix). Glitters are on the way, cellophane cones are pre-rolled, toolbox is almost fully kitted out, and I could not be happier.
Plus, hoping to make their first appearance in May are my business cards! I've been busy beavering away so that people can keep a hold of my contact details, and seeing as I'm about to start giving out the website address, I've been busy trying to get all the bugs out of this place, too. The theme for TheHennaCircus is finally coming together, and my timeline for finishing everything on here should be the end of May, so keep checking back if you want to watch the site slowly fall apart and then come back together again!
I've decided in the grand scheme of things, my current focus is henna. Portraits are still ongoing (when a new comission comes in. Interested?), but the main push is the temporary body art, especially parties, which means setting out a clear structure to my pricing that everyone can understand. I'll also be looking to raise publicity through competitions and special offers, so keep an eye out!
